We need your help to raise $60,000 by the end of the 2025-2026 academic year!
Walk the Warrior Way and donate to the Annual Warrior Fund, of which 100% of the proceeds are reinvested right back into our school, our teachers, and our kids.
It’s easy to donate! Find us via Zelle through your bank or via your Zelle app using our email address, wbmsptso@gmail.com, to donate fee-free. We also accept Venmo or PayPal @WBMSPTSO. You can also write a check or money order payable to “WBMS PTSO” and either drop it off at the front office or mail it to Willie L. Brown Middle School, Attn: WBMS PTSO, 2055 Silver Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94124. Be sure to write off your generous tax-deductible donation to the WBMS PTSO by including our EIN# 92-0530082.
Donating to the 2025-2026 PTSO Annual Warrior Fund is the easiest, quickest, and only tax deductible way to directly impact our WBMS Warriors’ growth and enrichment.
Many of the excellent low- or no-cost programs from which our students and their families benefit are not covered by the SFUSD operating budget, including the outdoor education field trips for all grade levels in the spring. To keep our offerings robust, equitable, and accessible to all our students, it’s up to our community to fundraise the rest. We have a goal of raising $60,000 this academic year.
- $10 helps fund paper, pencils, notecards, and notebooks for one student
- $25 buys sweet treats and healthy snacks in a teacher appreciation gift
- $50 covers supplemental educational supplies for one classroom
- $75 supports one of WBMS’ extracurricular clubs for one semester
- $500 sponsors five 6th grade students on their Alcatraz National Park class trip, which includes building community pride, receiving rich SF and BIPOC history lessons, and the ferry ride on the Bay
- $1,000 sponsors three 7th grade students on their Redwoods Forest field trip, which focuses on relationship building, independence, and, for many students, their first chance accessing the national California wonders right outside the City
- $1,500 sponsors two 8th grade students on their outdoor education trip to Yosemite, which supports their pathway to independence, resilience, and exploration, fosters relationship and trust building, and develops empathy and responsibility for our natural world

But Wait…There’s More!
- Ask grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, coworkers, and friends to donate too.
- Add WBMS’ PTSO to your employer’s gift matching program. You’ll need our EIN# 92-0530082. Please note: our Benevity application is in processing! We will update this note once we’re officially a Benevity-recognized corporate philanthropy charity.
- Make an in-kind donation. Commonly needed products and services include color printing, branded swag items, snacks and food for our faculty and staff Appreciation Days or the Brown Bucks incentive program, graphic design, classroom and event support, and chaperones, just to name a few. Fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
- Spread the word and attend our annual Casino Night Fundraiser in January or February 2026

$60k?! What do you need all of that for?!
We’re so glad you asked!
The 2025-26 WBMS PTSO budget increased by only 15% from the 2024-25 budget, but the SFUSD cuts to WBMS’ budget were drastic, even though enrollment at WBMS is the highest it’s ever been.
This directly impacts funding needs for grade level enrichment programs. About $20,000 of the PTSO budget pays for special enrichment field trips for the students, including the outdoor education field trips to places like Alcatraz Island, Joshua Tree, and Yosemite National Park for each grade level that are held in the spring. It’s important to remember that, while some of these local destinations are commonplace for a few families, they are inaccessible and unaffordable for most. The WBMS staff, faculty, and PTSO use these trips to foster a sense of curiosity and exploration in our students while also allowing these Californians to enjoy what’s in their own backyard before going off into the world as young adults. The PTSO is committed to allocating at least $10K, $6K, and $4K ($20,000 total) to the 8th, 7th and 6th grade field trips, respectively.
The remainder of the budget subsidizes classroom supplies, campus equipment, and technological upgrades not funded by SFUSD; academic enrichment like after-school tutoring, college and career readiness programs and events, and extracurricular clubs and athletics; community engagement events like the Welcome Ice Cream Social, Trunk-or-Treat, and Earth Day Celebrations; cultural heritage and affinity group events such as the LatinX Heritage, Black History, AAPI Heritage, and Pride Months; fun community-building and stewardship events like school dances, monthly staff appreciation breakfasts and annual volunteer appreciation events.
With all that we aim to support, we hope to also have a $10,000 cushion to ease cash flow needs and deadlines for the beginning of the next school year (2026-27).
With the close partnership of staff and faculty, rooted in best practices and guided by student enthusiasm, your PTSO leadership, consisting of an executive board and community chairs and members, work hard to design a manageable, impactful budget. Not only do we ask that you donate to the PTSO Annual Warrior Fund, we hope you will join us at PTSO meetings and Walk the Warrior Way alongside us.
